I am honored to serve Santa Monica landlords and tenants on the Rent Control Board. I strongly support Santa Monica’s rent control law. Tenants’ and landlords' rights deserve to be protected. The law should be enforced equitably so that landlords can anticipate business income and expenses. Tenants should be entitled to fair and reasonable rent controls, which is why serving on the Rent Control Board is so deeply important to me; to ensure that those controls remain in place. Tenants should also be afforded freedom from harassment by their landlord.


As a member of the Rent Control Board, I am working to ensure that:

(1) Everyone is afforded habitable premises in which to live. 

(2) Local control is given back to Santa Monica to decide when units can be removed from the rental market.

(3) The supply of rent controlled units in Santa Monica is maintained.
